Jon Bon Jovi debuts new songs in Napa Valley

Jon Bon Jovi (backed by Bobby Bandiera and Lorenza Ponce) performed an acoustic fan club gig at the Castello di Amorosa in California's Napa Valley on August 28, 2012. He talked about writing songs for the upcoming Bon Jovi album as well as the soundtrack of a movie called Stand Up Guys (starring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin) and played some of these new songs. Here are videos of The Fighter, Running, and Old Habits:

The Fighter - from the new Bon Jovi album

Not Running Anymore - from the Stand Up Guys soundtrack

Old Habits Die Hard - from the Stand Up Guys soundtrack (I wasn't expecting that opening line, haha)

So... What do you think of the songs?

I also haven't been able to find a set list for this show but from what I've managed to quickly piece together from different sources online, it was reportedly something like this:
  • Superman Tonight
  • (You Want To) Make a Memory
  • Born to Be My Baby
  • Running
  • Old Habits
  • The Fighter
  • Livin' on a Prayer
  • Santa Fe
  • Hallelujah

Can anyone confirm what was played?

Here's Santa Fe for good measure:

  2. Thanks for putting these altogether in the one spot Lee-Ann, much appreciated! So wish I could have been there, but it's a long flight from Australia to San Fran.

Just waiting for the tour now, I'm so excited now that I've heard some new material! :)

  3. Didn't he ask the audience not to video the evening? You potentially stealing his thunder by releasing the new songs here may make him reluctant to play new songs for his fan club members in the future. I'm just sayin'.....

    1. I don't know what Jon did or didn't say as I wasn't there, but he has acknowledged bootleggers and YouTubers in the past (even saying "Roll your tapes") so it's interesting if he specifically asked not to be recorded this time around. Should Jon stumble across this blog post and feel I've stolen his thunder by embedding the videos here, then I apologise. But either way, they are all in the public now and seeing these videos has made fans who weren't there far more excited for the new release. The final versions of the songs will likely be quite different to these raw acoustic versions anyway.

  4. Yes they asked specifically for no video taping...of course people did anyway which doesn't make it right just sad that the person who did is the one who breached his trust. Now it has been made public and the damage is done so you cannot blame people for passing it on...
